Think Before You Speak

Think Before You Speak:

This week I was inspired and motivated by a quote shared on Facebook by Ashley Goode:

“There is never a time when negativity is justified. Life can never flow from a poison source – you only reap when you keep it sweet!”

Indeed, this caused me to consider – we should carefully direct our attention to what we’re thinking about.

We must deal with the source!

Just think about it.

Our negative actions and words come from our negative thoughts.

Our negative thoughts come from hearing negative stuff, and a recurring sequence of events occurs.

Oh-boy!

Imagine having thoughts with no positive features.

Remember, words satisfy the mind as much as fruit does the stomach.

Good talk is as gratifying as a good harvest.

Words kill, words give life – they’re either poison or fruit.

You choose.

In other words, think before you speak!

So often harsh and negative words can kill and destroy!

Instead, it “is” possible to manage our thoughts.

Come-on friends!

Let’s seize and take control of every thought!

As soon as a negative thought enters our minds, we can aim to exchange it for a positive one.

We can also stop allowing other people’s negative outlook to shape, influence, or give direction to ours.

Keep in mind, people with similar interests will stick together.

Sure-enough, every seed produces fruit after its own kind.

Keep note, people harvest only what they plant!

Deal with the seed, or deal with the consequence!

I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s great having friends who think of all the positives, especially when you’re feeling negative. We need more people like that in our lives.

And so, let’s set the pace.

Let’s look for the best in each other, and always do our best to bring it out.

Let’s say yes to the positive.

As we empower others – we will be surprised as to what we will reap.

So, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise.

Think about the things that are true and honourable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.

And now, let’s be gracious in our speech.

Speak encouraging words to one another.

Build up hope.

Speak words of life.

Say yeah!
