God-value:
Howdy friends,
So, there we were, me and my precious Rachel, using the remote to switch the television channels to see if there was anything that justified our investment in time and interest.
And so, as we continued, we stumbled upon a show in which the specialized presenters estimate officially the worth, or value, or quality of things.
In the programme, the team of appraisers travel to regions of the United Kingdom to place a value on and judge the worth of antiques brought in by local people.
As we listened, I was reminded of a quote by Bob, an old friend from Blaenavon, who has since moved from his earthly address to his heavenly one.
Anyhow, Bobs quote was this:
Something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.
And he had a point.
Let’s put it this way:
No matter what the amount (of money that is considered to be a fair equivalent for something else, that something else is only worth the amount once the money has been exchanged.
What a fantastic representation.
Now consider this:
We are worth what God was prepared to pay for us.
Yep, that’s right!
Surely, we cannot help but connect this to God’s phenomenal love!
The love that caused Jesus to come to earth to rescue us.
Listen carefully!
Our heavenly Father sets the example of real love.
In truth, He is the cornerstone for all love relationships.
My, what an awesome love God has for us!
Just think, when you love someone sincerely, there are times when you choose to do everything you can for them.
It’s not brought about by coercion or force!
It’s an act of making a choice.
So come, hear with intention.
God’s payment brought about a great sacrifice.
It was the ultimate price He could pay.
Why, it was the life of His Son.
This reflects the essential and genuine character of God.
And, His message of love is as relevant today as it was over two thousand years ago.
You see, Jesus has paid the price for our wrong-doings:
He now provides freedom and new life:
Eternal hope is available to us all:
So much abundance, healing and wholeness.
That, my friends, is God-value?
Come-on!
Say, yes!
