My Day Off:
Howdy friends,
If ever I had the opportunity to pause for respite I would do preliminary drawings for later elaboration.
If the hours didn’t rush by too quickly I could begin to paint my pictures.
Or even consider charcoal or pen-and-ink.
I could evoke images that I have made through the years and share by illustration.
The facial recognition of old friends, the awareness of new ones.
And the creation of new activities with loved ones too.
An interpretation formed in colours.
Oh, how I miss those colours!
A gleam of light.
The blue greens.
The purple reds.
The sunflowers.
The ripe lemons.
Ah, for that chromatic crescendo!
Alert to visible light.
Still, for now, what I achieve is accomplished in deep darkness.
Painting word pictures.
Using text in intricate detail.
Encouraging promises.
Having influence and engagement.
Reflecting genuine hope.
Not illusory!
Not abstract or imaginary!
Rather, a restoration message.
Current, fresh and understandable.
Facilitating easy and enjoyable reading.
Relevant.
Shining with God colours.
Standing taller than lofty flowers.
Squeezing joy out of lemons.
Longing for the break of day.
Becoming conscious of sunrise glory.
Then from a spiritual perspective all blind eyes will be opened.
Oh, yes!
That’s my prayer.
