An Honest Chat

An Honest Chat:

Howdy friends,

Perhaps you or a loved one are struggling with anything and everything.

Maybe you are going through tough times.

Possibly your faith is faltering.

Well, in a manner contemplative of past events, consider this.

During those hard times Rachel and I didn’t always feel like singing songs.

Frankly, there were mornings that didn’t “feel worth” getting up for!

Yet, we did!

And, amazingly, we found ourselves singing into the night.

Similarly, there were days when we didn’t feel like praying.

Instead, we just felt like hiding beneath the cosy duvet.

And when we tried to muster a prayer, our words were marked by tedious repetition.

But, then we gave ourselves to an honest chat.

The relationship directly between us and Father began to grow.

When we became desperate, we called out.

Our heavenly Father raised us from our dazed state of dormancy.

His ears picked up every moan and groan.

Every whimper and sigh.

Sure-enough, trouble came knocking at the door.

Anxiety and stress followed close behind.

It was hard trying to ignore side-show distractions.

Doing good things didn’t necessarily mean we were doing the right things.

We were spiritually spent.

Drained of effectiveness.

However, despite the fact that we had a temporary loss of strength and energy, we didn’t fall flat on our faces.

Why?

Father was there every time.

He had a firm grip on our hands.

Remember, no one who runs to Him loses out.

So, hear with intention!

Before we call, Father will answer.

Before we finish speaking, He would have heard.

Now, wake up to a new morning.

Breathe in.

Get up.

Come, sons and daughters.

Readjust your focus.

Realign your motive.

Get back on track.

Directly face the Father of hope.

Put into words your thankfulness and appreciation.

Keep note of who you are.

Free from anxious fears.

For this reason, hold your head high.

Say, yes! –
