Hearty Stuff:
So I’m searching through the archives the other day [doesn’t everybody?], – and I was reminded of the importance of showing kindness – in welcoming guests or strangers.
In truth, since being married to Rachel, I’ve noticed one of her qualities is being exceedingly inventive in hospitality – welcoming visitors, and making them feel quite at home.
And I’m so proud of her.
So thankful.
She is always ready to help, with God’s hearty help.
In a generous and ungrudging manner, characterised by kindness, she is never longing for something better than the present situation
Never looking for a way out!
Never grumbling!
She is quite content – meeting the needs of our guests.
So much a blessing!
God-given!
Praise Him!
Anyhow, here’s some observations and pointers:
As we become inventive in hospitality – we generate fellowship, and gain friendly relationships.
Indeed, as we open-up our hearts and homes, and provide an open table with bread and sandwich fillers, this gives an opportunity to find-out, sound-out, check-out and share with friends.
And sure-enough, we are encouraged to open our homes to each other and share our food without complaining!
In other words, cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.
When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them.
Always be eager to practice hospitality.
Thus, as we foster a warm and friendly atmosphere, we provide a way to connect with others.
And remember, be ready with a meal or a bed when it’s needed.
Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it!
Now, that’s a thought!
Come-on!!
