Million Praises:
Thank the miracle-working God, His love never quits.
An Update:
As we approach seven years since the launch of the Newday-Prince Internet Ministry, I’m also reminded that it’s one year since two types of cancer began to develop in my skin.
I had squamous cell carcinoma on my leg, and basal cell carcinoma on my nose. Both believed to be caused from having a low immunity system, and being on immunosuppressive drugs.
What’s more, suffering with staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas infections appeared to happen simultaneously.
Anyhow, since that time, I’ve had the skin cancers removed, and I’m continuing to treat the skin grafts and donor sites with ointment and so on.
Thankfully, the infections have cleared up. The cancer has gone!
However, I’m still having to check the skin changes that occur on my leg as a result of stasis dermatitis.
I also have to be aware of any spots, warts and so on!
In fact, my body is sprayed with liquid nitrogen every time I visit the dermatologist!!!
For these reasons, I have to see the dermatology and transplant consultants every 3 months, for life.
Hence, we would value your prayers, as my medication is currently under review, as some long-term immunosuppressive drugs may increase the risk of developing lymphoma or other forms of cancer.
Twenty one years is a long time to be taking any medication!
In the meantime, we give thanks to God, as the month of May saw twenty one years since I had my double transplant – kidney and pancreas – and in September it will be twenty one years since I was given three days to live: Due to developing septicaemia, going into cardiac arrest, and ending up in a state of deep unconsciousness!
This story is even more amazing, when we consider doctors reckoned I only had a 9% chance of survival!
But wait! I’m walking proof of the power of prayer!!
One could say, I’m living a story worth telling!!
In truth, God is great, and worth a million praises!
Yeah? Right!
Obviously, up until quite recently, my illness has prevented us from travelling any great distance.
Nevertheless, we’ve appreciated family visits from the Midlands and South Wales.
In addition, our neighbours have been brilliant! Thank God for such encouraging folks.
Our church family have also been part of that support network. We especially love sharing coffee and cake with friends.
At the same time, we must take this opportunity to mention the support from the medical and surgical teams and nursing staff, especially my specialist cancer nurse, a valued and trusted source of expert information, providing advice and support.
Anyhow, that’s enough on the medical front!
Yep? Sure!
But before I carry on, I really must tell you how utterly superb Rachel is.
The way in which she holds herself together is remarkable.
She has really coped well, with every moment, every minute of this emotional journey, 24/7.
She is totally amazing. Such a God-given treasure.
Thus, with God’s help, together, we’re moving forward by leaps and bounds!
Praise Him!!
