Kind Hearts Are Quietly Kind:
Howdy friends,
This weeks encouragement is inspired by a quote written by Max Lucado.
I mean, his quote is the title for this weeks theme.
To be honest, it totally amazes me how many people go around doing their doings, and for some reason, they feel the need to tell everyone what they are doing.
In my younger days, you simply, quietly, got on with it.
Yet, we seem to have entered an age, a season, where the more people that know about our business, the better.
Perhaps this is a social media phenomenon.
Perhaps, not!
But, it seems to me that some of us just love wallowing in our own acts of kindness.
We revel in telling others what we have done.
Sometimes, we celebrate noisily.
We jump for joy!
We appear to walk on air.
Often, we are on cloud nine.
We get a buzz from fetching a loaf of bread for a house-bound neighbour:
We boast about comforting a stumbling child:
We seek praise when we give from the little we have:
But wait!
Don’t get me wrong and don’t misunderstand me.
Listen with intention!
When we do something for someone else, let’s not call attention to ourselves.
When we help someone out, let’s not think about how it looks.
Just do it-quietly and unobtrusively.
After-all, this is the way our heavenly Pa, who conceived us in love, working behind the scenes, helps us out.
So, next time you encourage a neighbour:
Next time you help someone in need:
Next time you give the best gift from your pocket:
Next time you deal capably with unusual problems:
Next time you spend your time:
Search your heart.
Check your motive.
Remember, kind hearts are quietly kind.
