Mixed Bag Of Colours:
We consult our notes, scratch our heads, clear our desks, and attempt to give the correct answer or solution to the question.
And, all because someone said: Answers on a postcard, please.
The answer could be very obvious.
Oh, to hear what people think
But keep it brief!
So then, what is a rainbow?
A rainbow is simply the sun shining through rain, which creates an arc of coloured light in the sky.
I guess that may sound pretty basic.
Elementary stuff.
But, if you want a better explanation, feel free to ask Professor Google!
Anyhow, a rainbow reminds us of our heavenly Papa’s heart.
You see, in a personal way, He handles every request from His children
When Papa promises to help us, He doesn’t go-back-on His decision, but He is lovingly consistent.
He never fails to fulfil a promise.
Sure-enough, we can believe in Him totally.
We can depend on Him rather than on ourselves.
And so, what about grace?
Yet, another good question.
And an answer that needs more than merely the back of a postcard.
Only, in context with this weeks E-word, grace means to become more attractive by adding colours.
Papa’s colours.
Yep, that’s right!
We need to know that the many and varied features of His grace are extremely abundant, creating a mixed bag of colours.
A mixture of gifts:
Kinda like the multi-colours on a raggedy doll:
Or a court jester’s costume:
A variety of sorts considered individually.
But, it’s much deeper than any article of clothing.
Sadly, however, complete-faith can often remain out-of-sight from ordinary view.
And this is what I mean:
If we let the Son shine through our lives, Papa will display His colours through us.
Oh, my!
What a promise!
Never forget, we all live off Papa’s generous bounty, gift after gift after gift.
Grace upon grace:
In both good times and bad:
Over, and over again.
Like the pulsation with every beat of Papa’s heart:
Recurring again and again.
Listen, each of us have been given an “open-handed” gift.
In the same way, let’s pull-out-all-the-stops for one another.
Let’s show grace in every situation.
Let’s emulate Papa’s heart.
And think about His promise.
He has guaranteed more to follow.
More than enough.
It’s all we need.
Gifts of grace beyond our imagination.
Now friend, pause for a while.
Find joy in the cloud burst.
Oh, come!
See the rainbow!
