Show Some Compassion:
A Question Of Kindness:
If only people realised how life can change in an instance!
Not one of us can guarantee our tomorrows will bring the same qualities as today.
Already, for some, our better days may seem like a distant history!
I suppose, even as storms have no boundaries, equally, neither have afflictions.
The condition of being unable to perform as a consequence of physical or mental unfitness can render anyone powerless at anytime.
There’s different levels of affliction!
Different degrees of pain!
Different types of sorrow!
None of us are immune, none of us invincible.
No one unsusceptible, no one unbeatable!
Still, hey!
Listen!
Let’s not be down in the mouth!
Even in the unending shadows of our darkest experience, there’s no reason to be overcome by fear.
Remember, God is with us in those darkest moments.
In actual fact, He is with us all the time!
What an assurance!
So much comfort.
So much hope.
It does, however, sadden me in this age and society, as “some of us” have become almost desensitised to the needs of the vulnerable around us.
We’ve become virtually deficient in human sensibility!
It seems, at times, we’ve abandoned our very own!
Oft times, neglecting fellow feelings!
So, how can we care for the most physically broken and weak people in our society?
Well, as we examine ourselves, I reckon these words sum it up quite aptly:
reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight.
Say no to wrong.
Learn to do good.
Work for justice.
Make right for the world’s most vulnerable.
Help the down-and-out.
Stand up for the homeless.
Go to bat for the defenceless.
Make a home for those who walk alone.
Listen to the cry of the needy.
Register every whimper and moan.
Share the feelings of others.
Remember the victims of violence ..,
For as we lay eyes on the suffering of others and want to do something about it – we show compassion!
That is, we make known the desire of God’s heart.
Sure-enough, we become a reflection of who God is.
We mirror the true value of the Father heart of God.
Just consider this, His heart beats not only for the orphan – the “seemingly” unloved, but for each and everyone of us.
So, with God’s help, and caring hands, let’s begin to reach out to an needy world.
Let’s open our hands willingly.
And then, when appropriate, give thanks for health and strength – and the joy that every new day brings.
Say yes!
