Living H2o:
In recent weeks Rachel and I have adopted the use of power juicing to compliment our daily selection of foods.
For those who follow the E-word Communicator regularly, you’ll already know what fun we’ve been having.
In fact, it’s been a little over six weeks since we began juicing a variety of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis, yet in that short time we’ve already noticed the health benefits.
Our talking weighing scales aren’t groaning “so much” either!
That’s just an added bonus, as weight loss wasn’t our reason for power juicing.
But we’re delighted, nevertheless.
More recently, we’ve also started drinking Rooibos, Red Bush tea.
To be honest, unless we had looked into what Rooibos was, we wouldn’t have realised that it’s caffeine free. That’s how good it tastes.
And the reported health benefits are numerous, ranging from being good for circulation problems, the heart, skin, brain, helping to lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and so on.
Still, in our course of fact finding, we’ve also been reminded of the usefulness of good old plain water.
Yep, that’s right. Water!
Sure-thing, drinking water helps our process of absorbing nutrients into the body after digestion.
It also helps circulation, creation of saliva, and keeping our body temperature in good working order.
And most importantly, it helps to keep us hydrated.
Now listen.
Rachel and I are often reminded of these words by Max Lucado:
“We are not meant to live with dehydrated hearts!”
Good quote.
And here’s another, by Jesus:
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart.”
Wow!
An even better quote!
How amazing is that!
Living H2o.
So friends, who do you turn to?
Where do you go?
What do you long for when you’re thirsty?
Of course, not everything we drink will quench our thirst.
For even as our body hungers and thirsts, so does our soul.
So, come with me, for a moment, and direct your attention to the spiritual.
Always remember, if you hunger and thirst for God’s approval, you will be satisfied.
Maybe it’s time to readjust ones perspective.
Simply focus on God.
As you let Him occupy that void, He will hydrate your heart.
So, let the energy of His Spirit revitalise you.
Be changed, rearranged.
Be filled, abundantly, purposely, fruitfully.
And then, gradually, others will be motivated by your liveliness as well.
