Create Anew:
Putting things into perspective.
Creative and productive insights happen when we learn to think differently about the way we do things – especially the things we do all the time.
There is nothing wrong with implementing well-grooved ideas into action, but consider this – our heavenly Papa isn’t looking to manufacture look-alike churches.
But rather, He has a specific assignment for each church to bring about.
Just because one thing works well for the church in the next town or village, doesn’t mean we have to be a secondary representation of an original!
And this also applies to the individual.
We’re all unique!
All of us, everyone – radically distinctive and without equal.
So let’s begin to look at things from a different perspective:
Unfortunately, due to multiple health issues, my wife and I are unable to attend church in a regular way without variation – but we look forward to the prayer focus and home group held at our home.
In short, a section of the church comes to us.
As you can imagine, we love being where honest friendships share a journey of spiritual growth – in Papa’s love.
We love family.
Notice, we are not forgetting to get together with the wider group of God’s kids.
It’s just that quite often, our personal circumstances prevent us meeting in the accepted button-down way.
But when we get together, we love encouraging each other.
We love having serious fun too!
Sure-enough, we remain excited about being with God’s kids, getting to know them, learning to love them and sharing life together.
You’ve guessed it, we love investing in folks.
And we love to share our Papa’s investment in us!
Besides, one buddy sharpens another.
On account of this, we don’t live our Christian faith in a state of isolation.
We haven’t cut ourselves off from the qualities of others – the warmth, the protectiveness, the back-up, the support, the guidance, the things which enable us to survive and grow, and so on.
We’re just learning to think differently about the way we do things.
It’s our journey of faith.
A journey of adventure.
But, just because one thing works well for us, doesn’t mean others have to be a carbon copy of what we do.
Listen kids, it would be a dull old world if we were all the same!
So before we conclude, let’s emphasise this:
Our ability to create is a gift!
Perhaps, for some of us, it’s time to create again but in a new or different way.
Never let familiarity breed contempt!
Alternatively, let’s learn how to use our God-given gifts and skills.
Create anew.
Afresh.
Be imaginative.
Originative.
And let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out.
Not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
My, that’s a thought.
Ingenious!
Now, come-on kids!
Wherever you are in your Christian walk, encourage one another, and build up hope.
Say yes!
