Power To Do More

Power To Do More:

Hey friend!

Would you be “more” upset about someone coming into your home and taking away your high-speed access to the Internet “and” computer – or your black leather gold-leaf Bible?

What would your answer be?

For that matter, what would my answer be?

Could I cope without one or the other?

Could you?

Could anyone?

Now, before we answer, let’s consider this:

Although the Bible is the world’s best-selling book – generally, it’s the least read book in the family-home.

Yeah!

Which brings us to another set of questions that we must answer:

When was the last time we sat down and read the Bible?

When did we last study the Bible?

Do we ever learn by heart those Bible verses?

Have we ever applied the Bible to our own lives?

Now, I don’t want to turn this reflection into an interrogation, but compared to how much time we spend on the Internet – let’s examine how much quality time we spend in attempting to grasp or understand the Bible.

After-all, television, phones and Internet take up almost half our waking hours!

It’s a fact, we’re spending almost a quarter of our Internet time on social networking sites.

So, let’s return to our initial set of questions.

And then, before we rush to a conclusion, let’s figure-out the answer that gives us the power to do more.

But wait, there’s plenty of time to re-think!

I don’t want to pre-determine, jump ahead, or manipulate your decision.

Nevertheless, assuming we have access to a Bible – in “whatever format” it may be – let’s encourage one another to make an effort to read and study it as often as we can.

And know this, God’s desire for us, is to apply His Word and let it change our lives.

Still, realise this, it is impossible to apply what we cannot remember!

Thus, it’s good to memorise.

Good to read over and over again.

And, if you haven’t answered the questions yet, there’s no need to worry!

Just remember, every Scripture passage is inspired by God.

All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval.

Indeed, God’s Message is full of life and power.

Now, that’s something for everyone to chew-over.
