Don’t Squeeze Me!

Don’t Squeeze Me!:

I’m sure you heard of the saying, “A square peg in a round hole.”

Well, it’s an idiomatic. expression which describes the unusual individualist who could not fit into a niche of his society.

At first glance though, the phrase may seem quite profound.

Yet, take hold of this important word of advice, don’t let anyone around you squeeze you into their own mould!

The author, Max Lucado, reminds us: “Leonardo Da Vinci painted one Mona Lisa. Beethoven composed one Fifth Symphony. And God made one version of you.

He custom designed you for a one-of-a-kind assignment. You cannot be anything you want to be. But you can be everything God wants you to be.”

Sometimes, however, we could be squeezed into something that everyone else wants us to be.

We find ourselves forced into reaching others hopes and expectations.

We feel like we are being pressed firmly into the wrong hole!

Squeeze like a wedge into a tight space!

Oh, boy!

Ever been there?

Ever had a project that’s too big for you to handle?

Ever thought the task was cinch, but you’ve ended up in deep-water?

Ever been given a job description that’s beyond your ability?

Or maybe, just maybe, you’re over qualified!

Anyway, maybe, you’re the wrong shape for the wrong hole!

So, maybe you compare yourself with others, trying to figure-out who is the best!

Surely, analysing folks in this way takes something away from your distinct personality and creativity!

After-all, who needs a poor quality imitation?

Hum!

Ever felt out of place?

Oh, to be in a position particularly well suited to you!!

Well, here’s some simple advice, don’t be squeezed!

Just be yourself!

Yes, that’s right!

Just be you.

As you become you, you are everything God wants you to be!

YOU!

In any case, whether or not you feel like some square peg in that round hole, you’re made according to the specifications of our heavenly Father.

Sure-enough, you’re marvellously made!

So, face it! Only you can be you!

And remember, God’s plans for you are unique, and unflawed.

Now, that’s a God thought!
