God Of Wonder:
This week, I followed with great interest – the final flight of the American space shuttle.
As I listened to the news, I was reminded of such endeavours, especially the landing of the first man on the moon.
Indeed, Forty-Two years and one day after Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, Atlantis lands – ending 30 years of the Space Shuttle program.
Amazing!
Still, even with these achievements, in a universe where comparison is impossible, and in a world so majestic and wonderful in numerous ways, one could seem powerless and unable to function by feelings of unimportance and helplessness in the face of extreme immensity.
But wait a moment!
In times when we lack confidence, we are assured and comforted by an overwhelming feeling of wonder and admiration of God Almighty. Our Creator. Our Father.
And yet, even in this generation – when ones faith in God may seem to grow increasingly irrelevant, God, the Father, wonderfully reaches out to a world so filled with unspeakable pain.
Truly, He brings us closer to Himself.
Yes, that’s right!
God, our loving heavenly Father, invites us to call out and find out.
And to think, as we call to Him, He answers.
He tells us marvellous and wondrous things that we could never figure out on our own.
For-sure, like a child thrown into a state of intense fear in the middle of the night – reaching out to a loving father for re-assurance, we too, can reach for Him – knowing that our Father will respond and bring comfort.
In truth, when we say a quiet yes to God – He’ll be there in no time.
How awesome – the immeasurable love of God.
Sure-enough, as He restores our confidence, we find great comfort in the God who loves and cares for us.
The God of wonder.
Our lives are in His hands!
Now, surely, that’s amazing stuff!
Come-on, everybody!
Thumbs-up?
Amen!
