Restoration Beyond Belief:
In the second book of Chronicles we read:
“If My people respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for them: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health.”
Here, God instructed Solomon that the Temple would be a place set aside for a particular purpose, a place that God’s people could come to – and be guaranteed that their prayers would be answered.
But the requirement was this, they should sincerely and humbly make an effort to seek Him.
Friends, if we follow this pre-requisite, the guarantee is still relevant for us today.
Indeed, this is a wonderful promise for God’s people here and now!
However, have you ever noticed how anxious we become when it comes to repentance – turning away from sin, and giving our hearts and lives over to God?
Do you ever beat yourself up over what you’ve done?
Do you ever dwell on your past conduct and so on?
O boy!
Then again the Bible indicates to us, “If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense.
On the other hand, if we admit our sins – make a clean breast of them – He won’t let us down; He’ll be true to Himself.”
He never desserts those who seek Him.
And consider this, God will not only receive us with arms opened wide, He’ll also restore us – and make us brand new!
Yep, He’ll forgive our sins and purge us from all wrongdoing.
Surely, this is restoration beyond belief!
Not only are we forgiven, but we are also made clean and new again!
But only because of the rhythms of God’s grace and His sacrificial love for us.
Nevertheless, we can often find that the daily call to repentance can be quite hard to do.
Why do you think that is?
It’s because the devil twists and turns what we think; persuading us to believe what is not true..
We become conscious of our own short-comings.
We get bog-down by an old pattern of addictive and repetitive behaviour.
We get distracted by other things through the journey of life.
That’s how it goes. On and on. Over and over again. A never ending cycle!
And where does that get us? No-where!
Friends, perhaps you need release from the weight of life’s experiences.
Know this, the love of God will effectively heal and restore – so you can move forward in your personal walk with God.
All you need to do is confess your sins – make a clean breast of them – and sincerely give your life over to Him.
As you do, you will experience new life, energy and strength!
“When you turn to face God – He’ll wipe away your sins, and pour out showers of blessing to refresh you.”
Now that’s something to think about!
Sure, this is restoration beyond belief!
A radical transformation through the announcement of Good News.
Amen? Amen!!
