Relationship with God

Relationship With God:

This weekly thought is inspired by the blind hymn writer, Fanny J Crosby, who wrote:

To God be the glory, great things He has done; So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life, an atonement for sin, And opened the life-gate, that all may go in.

What a message!

Here’s another way to put it: God loved the people of this world so much that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never really die.

Friends, God, our heavenly Father, has always desired to be close to us, to have a relationship with us.

This is why He sent His only Son, to provide eternal life for me, you and everyone of us.

For this reason, we can have access to a real love relationship.

Yes, that’s right! A relationship between us and God!

Having first-hand knowledge of God depends on us accepting this relationship of love.

God did all that was needed for us to have this relationship.

But, it maybe, that you’ve never stepped out in faith to receive this personal relationship with Him.

Having a personal relationship with God begins the very second we realize our need for Him, acknowledge we are sinners, and in faith receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour.

In light of this, let’s return to the good old hymn:

O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, great things He has done.
