People Are Like Tea-bags:
“Faith un-tested is unreal. Faith tried in the furnace of human experience produces something rare and precious. Harsh circumstances can either make us bitter or better.” Chris Bowater.
Life can be very unpredictable and can bring for all of us disappointments, dashed hopes, and broken dreams.
Sorrow, sickness, disloyalties, hard knocks, rejection and feelings of uselessness – to name a few.
Furthermore, there’s a strong possibility we could all find ourselves in a state of agitation or hopelessness at sometime or another.
At times it may seem that we frequently face harsh circumstances, enduring emotional pain, constantly relearning the meaning of those events – and forever full of strong feelings of anxiety or perplexity.
And as a result of such stress, we so often can find ourselves fully submerged in a pity party!
Now listen, to whatever degree we might experience these negative feelings, let us bear in mind that these are often the situations which strengthen our lives – those “in the valley” times, not those on lofty mountain top feelings.
An unknown source – quotes, “People are like tea-bags – you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are!”
No matter how difficult we might feel things are at times, it will soon become apparent that it’s during those times of unrest and uncertainty that our faith grows the most.
We develop a greater ability to understand life, in general, as well as an insight to understanding other people.
We become discerning – more able to appreciate the things of God – and soon we gain insight to His direction for our own lives and for the lives of others who seek to know Him.
This becomes a challenge.
May we, as His children who are searching, become better not bitter!
Now, here’s another interesting quote:
“One of the most comforting thoughts for us as Christians, is the knowledge that God’s timing is perfect. Even though those circumstances may seem unbearable, we have the assurance that our Heavenly Father will intervene to provide a way out – and not a moment too soon!” Chuck Smith.
Sure-enough, there is no doubt that many of us are tried in the furnace of human experience.
But, thankfully, God provides us with spiritual assistance to help us emerge from these experiences with a deeper presence of Him – a deeper understanding of Him, as well as more insight into our own selves.
And it is with such experiences we become stronger, better prepared, and closer to God.
Thus, we realize our faith has grown, and our renewed trust in Him enables us to proceed as stronger witnesses for Him – and we become more equipped to help others in the process.
And what greater joy is there than helping those who seek insight to God and a deeper insight within themselves.
Friends, as we face challenges, let us seek Him through worship, prayer, reading His word – the Bible, as well as regularly participating in Christian fellowship.
It’s amazing how we’ll come to understand how invaluable these steps are to a victorious life with Christ.
